Library services during COVID-19 lockdown

Library staff will be back in the office from Monday 13 September

All library services will resume on Monday 13 September but some services will not be available to everyone - please read the information below.

All areas outside of Auckland

Please be patient as services will take longer than usual to deliver.

All books issued before the level 4 lockdown are now due back.

We will start sending out books from Monday 13 September.

  • We will prioritise requests from Ministry, TEC, ERO, and Education NZ staff. 
  • It will take a few days to clear the backlog so please be patient.
  • We will send books to the 'main address' listed in your library account For most people that means your office or the school you work at.
  • Ministry, TEC, NZQA, ERO, and Education NZ staff: if you are temporarily working from home and will be unable to collect books from your office, email us a physical address we can deliver a courier package to. Please do this after placing requests in the library catalogue.
  • Please can any requests you no longer want. You can do this by logging in to your library account

You can now request articles from our print journals and magazines.


Keep all books on loan to you until Auckland returns to level 2 and you can safely return them.

We can't send any books to you until Auckland is in alert level 2.
